  1. To begin, release the locking screw
  2. Push on adjustable wood base until you reach desired thickness, then lock in screw 

–          For Plantain Chips or “Mariquitas”, slice into 1/8-inch-thick pieces

–          For Sweet Plantains or “Maduros”, slice diagonally into 2-inch-thick pieces

–          For Twice-fried Plantains or “Tostones”, slice into 1 ½-inch-thick pieces

  1. Hold the slicer at an angle over cutting board or counter for stability
  2. Slice the peeled plantain by pushing it in a downward motion over the blade
  3. Maintain fingers and knuckles away from blade at all times
  4. You can use your slicer for other vegetables such as carrots and potatoes
