Chef Ana Garcia, the owner and operator of La Villa Bonita Cooking School and Culinary Hotel in Tepoztlan, Mexico, has just signed a Spokeschef agreement with Hispanic cookware giant IMUSA USA to develop and promote a series of authentic Mexican recipes utilizing cookware and utensils designed for the Mexican kitchen by IMUSA USA.  Starting in November, Chef Ana’s original recipes will be available on the IMUSA USA website recipe page; and a series of recipe cards featuring Chef Ana’s recipes will accompany each corresponding IMUSA cookware vessel at the retail level.

“A real chef knows the importance of great cookware, and is only as good as her tools,” said Ms Garcia.  “Working with IMUSA has given me the opportunity to experiment with various cooking options, and to share my enthusiasm and recipes with the general public.  Now, armed with the perfect Comal, you don’t have to be Mexican to make a great tortilla!” With the enthusiasm for Mexican food growing at the fastest pace of all ethnic cuisines in the U.S. — with annual sales of more than $4.3 billion a year, Americans are ordering a record number of tacos in restaurants, and are also taking their love of Mexican food into their kitchens.

According to Manny Gaunaurd, President of IMUSA USA, the market is growing for all Latin-inspired cookware, and Ana Garcia is the perfect person to help spread the word.

“We’ve seen a significant growth in interest surrounding Mexican home cooking.  As the general public becomes more sophisticated about the healthfulness and variety of Mexican cuisine, the next natural step is making it at home.”  Mr. Gaunaurd continued, “That’s where Ana comes in.  Her inviting approach and delicious, easy-to-understand recipes will help Americans of all ethnic backgrounds understand the breadth of the Mexican kitchen, and the right tools to produce amazing meals.  For this reason, Chef Ana is a welcome addition to our Chef Program.”

The IMUSA USA Chef Program
Designed to showcase the varied yet inter-related characteristics of “Latino Cuisine,” The IMUSA USA Chef Program is the first of its kind to showcase the best chefs from the world of Hispanic Cooking.  Chef Ana joins an illustrious lineup of professional chefs including Elsie Ramos, Ana Quincoces, and George Duran, who each demonstrate delicious recipes from their own individual countries of origin.

“Delivering delicious meal solutions is another added value the IMUSA customer enjoys when choosing our cookware and kitchen accessories,” explains Gaunaurd.

In addition to Ana’s appearance on the IMUSA website, and the distribution of her recipe cards within IMUSA’s cookware, Ana will also give lectures and cooking demonstrations at retail locations carrying IMUSA products throughout the U.S.
